A body of work where wood and other forms are used as tools for textile creation

Loom Hive

Summer 2018 (work in progress)

Techniques: wood working, hand-crochet, material exploration

Loom Hive is the exploration of traditional wood frame loom where there are 4 sections of weaving work space. Inspired by the shape of a bee hive, the wood form creates a hood like quality with rotating mechanism for a manual weaving tension adjustment in between each frame. Crochet technique is used to create a representation of warp.
